Here are Novative’s top 5 tips to Master Working from Home
Are you working from home? It can have many benefits, such as no commute every day. However, workers can come across challenges. In our previous post about Remote Working Statistics 2020 a survey by Statista highlighted that;
- 47% of employees found distractions at home a problem,
- 35% struggles with communication,
- 35% were lonely,
- 29% found it hard to get motivated.
We asked our team to give some of their top tips for remote working, many of whom worked remotely before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tip #1 Get dressed
Get dressed and ready in the morning even if you don’t have to leave home. Many people think it is so nice to stay in pyjamas all day, but actually I do believe that getting ready as if you were about to leave your place gives you more motivation for the whole day.

Tip #2 Breathe and take a walk
Sometimes it can be hard working from home and not feeling bad for taking a 10 min break after working for a 90 min straight. You feel the constant pressure of being online, seen & not raise the thought of other colleagues thinking you are not working, only relaxing. However, breaks are vital for being productive and doing the work you do the best you can. So take a break, breathe & try to get some fresh air.

Tip #3 Stay connected
Do not hesitate to call or contact someone in your team if you need help at any point, or even if you feel alone. Many of your colleagues may feel the same, and be relieved to have someone to talk to as well.

Tip #4 Make sure your work in a clean and tidy space
It is very important to make sure the space you work in at home is clean and tidy to the best of your ability. This will help you to focus better when working.
~Lydie Vuilleumier
Tip #5 Set boundaries
When working at home you may feel that you should be doing housework, or other household logistics. Set yourself boundaries, you do not do housework when you are at the office, so do not try and achieve this when working at home. You will overload yourself. Set a time for when you can achieve this housework and separate them from your working day.
